Privacy Policy
ChequePoint is a personal finance app for iPhone. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. The fundamental principle: your financial data belongs to you, lives on your own device and in your own private iCloud database, and is never sold, shared for advertising, or used to track you.
Information the app handles
- Financial account data. When you connect a bank through Plaid, the app receives your account names, balances, and transactions (dates, amounts, merchant names). This data is stored locally on your device and in the private database of your personal iCloud account (CloudKit), which neither the developer nor any third party can read. If you import transactions via CSV, they are stored the same way.
- Bank credentials — never seen. You enter bank usernames and passwords solely in Plaid's secure interface. ChequePoint never receives, views, or stores your bank login credentials.
- Apple Account identifier. Signing in with Apple gives the app an anonymous identifier (and optionally your name, which remains securely in your device's Keychain). This identifier is shared with RevenueCat solely to verify your subscription entitlement.
- Subscription status. App purchases are processed directly by Apple. RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, receives purchase receipts and your anonymous identifier to activate subscription entitlements. We never receive or store your credit card or payment details.
- Crash & hang reports (Sentry). If the app crashes or experiences an unhandled freeze, an automated technical report is sent via Sentry so we can resolve the defect. Crash reports contain device model and stack traces, scrubbed of personal financial numbers.
- Feedback & diagnostics (opt-in). If you choose to send feedback via Settings → Support or the shake gesture, your message, an optional contact email, an optional screenshot, and diagnostics logs (scrubbed of account numbers) are sent to the developer solely to assist you.
How your data moves
- Plaid network relay: Requests to Plaid pass through a secure credential-injecting relay operated by the developer on Cloudflare Workers. The relay attaches secure API secrets and forwards your requests; it does not retain, log, or persist your financial data.
- iCloud Sync: Syncing between your iOS devices uses Apple CloudKit. Your records sync directly into your private personal iCloud container.
What we will never do
- No selling, renting, or monetizing your financial records — ever.
- No advertising, ad tracking SDKs, or cross-app identifier tracking (IDFA is not collected).
- No data broker integrations or third-party profiling.
- The developer maintains no external server database storing your financial records.
Retention and deletion (App Store Guideline 5.1.1(v))
Your financial records persist on your device and private iCloud until you choose to delete them. In the app, you can delete specific accounts or navigate to Settings → Advanced → Delete My Account & Cloud Data. This immediately deletes your local SwiftData store, purges your CloudKit records, unregisters your session on the relay server, and disconnects all active Plaid items.
You may also email deletion requests at any time to chequepointapp@gmail.com.
